No more fake hair; Food that aides your mane grow

Hair has been connected with our most inner intuition for centuries. It is a strong belief in some cultures that our hair is the link that connects us to Earth. The more unaltered our hair is – the better signals we have. It was a belief that the people with healthy long hair were the wisest, they held secrets no one else knew of the world. 

It is not a mystery that hair has been a main focus in society for women. We have made it one of the signatures of what makes us, Us. We are even influenced by Venus Goddess of Beauty every so often to change the way we look. There are hundreds of alternatives for fake hair in the market; like extensions, hair growers, hair fillers, fake eyelashes or eyelash boosters. The demand and appeal just keeps growing and growing. 

But, did you know?

There are farms harvesting yaks, horses, sheep, goats and even minks (to name a few) for their hair to create these hair products?

The desire for real looking hair and eyelashes is replacing more and more the synthetic and even natural alternatives. A rise in the demand is creating more and more hair farms all over the world. You can even find some of these animal hair products at corner stores or in the black market nowadays readily and easily available.

Beauty is important. It is the essence of a woman. Feeling and looking good go hand in hand. There are natural ways we can live to give our hair and skin that boost. It is attainable to naturally have long hair and eyelashes. The Magic – is in the things we eat!

Biotin, helps in the activity of genes and cell reforming. It is one of the main ingredients that helps make our hair and keep our skin nice. It is one of the B vitamins our body needs to function properly. There is no other way to get Biotin but to eat it. 

Biotin rich foods: Almonds, peanuts, avocados, oats, carrots, tomatoes, sweet potatoes, onions.

Vitamin C, helps keep our blood and skin healthy. It protects our cells from pollution all around us and aids the UV rays in detoxifying our skin and cells. Helping the body stay healthy and able to produce healthy skin and hair.

Food high in Vitamin C: eating raw fruit and vegetables is best. Oranges, lemons, grapefruit, peppers, broccoli, cabbage and fermented foods.

Vitamin A, can help our hair and skin health too. The beauty industry has even redefined this vitamin by the name of “retinol” – the anti-aging answer!

Foods high in Vitamin A: sweet potatoes, carrots, butternut squash, pumpkin broccoli, cantaloupe, squash. 

Zinc is the little mineral that forms our DNA. It is absolutely necessary for the body to literally keep grow and regenerating. It is not made by the body so it is necessary to consume it. Zinc helps make proteins and cells in the body. A healthy zinc level in the body is essential to have good hair and skin. 

Food high in Zinc: green peas, lima beans, lentils, asparagus, okra, brown rice, spinach, shiitake mushrooms, black beans, barley, oatmeal, whole wheat, nuts.

It is possible to have natural healthy long hair, good skin and eyelashes! There is no need to keep feeding the unnecessary animal abuse- we don’t need them. Beauty does not have to be so hard! Just be strategic by including these foods in your every day. Help your body stay up to par and it will reward you indeed. 

It is no secret having a clean whole food lifestyle is the key to beauty but we cannot forget the main Vitamin- staying HAPPY!
